At Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit, the French culinary genius invites diners to discover his exquisite flavors and beautifully presented cuisine in the sophisticated surroundings of its Parisian-styled rooftop bar and restaurant, L’Appart. For three nights only, Chef Hervé Rodriguez will showcase his extraordinary Michelin star cuisine with special menus and a gourmet wine dinner in celebration of the award-winning restaurant’s 4th anniversary.

In L’Appart’s sophisticated setting, guests can enjoy Chef Hervé’s truly exceptional menu of modern French cuisine, paired with a selection of exclusive wines. The refined set wine dinner will feature sublime dishes including perfect egg, pata negra and frita sauce served with Riesling Nikolaihof, 2014, followed by vinaigrette leek with crustacean coulis and buckwheat galette accompanied by Chablis Domaine Faiveley, 2014. Diners will also enjoy and choice of cod fish with nori, spinach and pistachio paired with Pouilly-Fumé, Les Chante Alouettes, Jean-Max Roger, 2014, and farmed organic chicken with oyster kimchi, kumquat and potato gnocchi to delight with Gevrey Chambertin Les Marchais Domaine Faiveley 2012 or Wagyu beef rib sous vide with black sesame, red shiso and prune to enjoy with Chateau l’Argilus du Roi, 2012. The refined evening of Michelin star cuisine will end with a divine dessert of Valrhona grand cru chocolate with red bell pepper and a glass of Taylor’s Port Ruby.

Prices: THB 6,000++ per person with wines pairing and THB 4,200++ per person without wine.

Born in the French city of Dijon, Michelin star Chef Hervé Rodriguez is known as the manipulateur de saveurs, the flavor manipulator, from which his renowned restaurant, MaSa, forges its name.

The seasoned chef was a former apprentice of the gastronomic arts in Michelin starred restaurants under Jean Crotet and Jacques Lameloise. After working in many other Michelin starred restaurants in France and refining his remarkable culinary skills, Chef Hervé and his wife Sophie opened MaSa in the Boulogne Billancourt district of Paris, and quickly gained a reputation for excellence. His own coveted Michelin star soon followed.

Chef Hervé is known for his inspired use of fresh ingredients and for improvisation.  A master of his art, he knows how to focus the attention of his diners with artistic plating and flavors that awakens the senses. Playful, precise, and passionate, Chef Hervé adds excitement to the pleasure of dining.

Meet Our New Chef At L’Appart Jerome Deconinck

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jerome Deconinck as the new chef at our elegant rooftop bar and restaurant L’Appart.

French national, Jerome Deconinck is a creative chef who has worked in some of the world’s top kitchens and exclusive hotels.

Print He began his culinary journey as apprentice to Michelin star chef, Georges Paccard at his restaurant, La Ciboulette in Annecy, France. Jerome was awarded “Best Apprentice of Haute Savoie 1996”, and selected for the “Best Apprentice in France” contest.

Jerome went on to work as Chef de Partie in the Department of the French Prime Minister where he created the daily menus for the prime minister and his cabinet.

The talented chef was also co-owner and Chef de Cuisine of the restaurant Le Français French Dining in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The venue was voted one of the city’s top ten restaurants by Malaysian Tatler, and Jerome won the “Award of Excellence for the Most Outstanding Festival Cuisine” during the Malaysia International Gourmet Festival 2007.

The passionate young chef’s impressive pedigree also includes a position as Chef de Cuisine at Le Pergolese at the Hilton Tokyo, sister restaurant of Stephane Gaborieau’s One Michelin Star restaurant in Paris.

Prior to joining Sofitel Bangkok Sukhumvit Jerome was Executive Chef at Fauchon in Bangkok.
